India imports practically nothing from Pakistan... in fact imports from Pakistan into India was less than even 1 million dollars in 2024. However, Pakistan has been importing a lot from India... considering that bilateral ties have basically reached their lowest point.

India's exports to Pakistan surged 127% in a year from 2023, to $1.21 billion in 2024... a 300% jump from 2020. Pakistan tried to suspend trade with India after the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019... but later it had to allow some imports to ease their own domestic inflationary pressures.

So basically, now Pakistan depends significantly on some essential goods from India. Though bilateral trade is at its lowest... there are still Indian goods that end up in Pakistan through backdoor channels, like from third party nations via indirect trade. As per a report by the Global Trade Research Inititaive, Indian goods worth over $10 billion are estimated to reach Pakistan annually through such third-country trade routes... this value is about 10 times higher than what Pakistan directly imports.

And now... India has taken a big step towards blocking these backdoor channels, and tighten the noose around Pakistan. Watch!
