(A, B) The growth of rice, a monocotyledonous model plant. (A) The length scale is fixed, so that you can understand the relative change in sizes. (B) The length scale is adjusted so that the images of each stage can be seen clearly.
(C, D) The life cycle of rice focusing on the pollen development (C) and double fertilization at the cellular level (D). Please take notice of pollen structure that is composed of two sperm cells enclosed within a single vegetative cell.

ムービー4. イネの成長 (B)

(A, B) 単子葉モデル植物であるイネの成長の様子。(A) 空間スケールが固定され、相対的な大きさの変化がよくわかるよういしたもの。(B) 空間スケールが発生の進行に伴い調整され、それぞれのステージでの構造がよくわかるようにしたもの。
(C, D) イネの生活環について、特に花粉の形成(C)、そして重複受精に至る様子(D)を細胞レベルで示した動画。花粉は、減数分裂後の２回の体細胞分裂により、栄養細胞のなかに２つの精細胞が入れ子状になった非常に特徴的な構造をとることに注目。
